Initially, the core business of Dive The Big 5 was that of a South African incoming tour operator specialising in scuba diving safaris which we married to a wildlife safari - www.divethebig5.com. 

Our secondary  business - Transfers and Tours - has since grown to equal that of the incoming division.  This business focuses on providing transfers from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) to various lodges and hotels in the Lowveld and from Johannesburg and Pretoria to various destinations in the Lowveld, as well as day tours of the region - see Tours Info.

These land based activities have resulted in the formation of Drive The Big 5
- www.drivethebig5.co.za - which focuses on all the land based activities of the parent company, Dive The Big 5.

Since Dive The Big 5’s inception in 1996, we have built up a fleet consisting of air-conditioned Toyota Quantums, VW Caddi Maxi’s and T5 Kombi’s.

All our vehicles conform to the road transportation act governing fare-paying passengers in that they each have a COF’s (Certificate of Fitness) and all our drivers are in possession of a valid PDP (Public Drivers Permit).  Registered guides are available at an additional cost if required.

As members of SATSA, Dive The Big 5 also conforms to SATSA’s  code of conduct and all our vehicles are insured so that your clients are covered by a R20 million passenger insurance liability in the unlikely event of an accident.  A letter to this effect is available from our insurance brokers should you request it.

We currently handle all Londolozi, Sabi Sabi’s, Mala Malas’s and Rhino Post & Plains Camps & KMIA – lodge transfers exclusively.

We are also one of the preferred transfer companies to Notten’s Bush Camp - so we come well recommended.

In addition, we also handle all Leopard Creeks transfers and have transferred the likes of Gary Player, The Rupert Family, F W de Klerk,  Pallo Jordan, Jeff Radebe and the newly appointed CEO of SAA, Dr. Khaya Ngqula, to name but a few.

I wanted to compliment you on your efficient service, we were advised that our client’s flight was delayed due to a technical error it was an absolute pleasure to have the driver’s name and number on our records, I called Derick (the driver) immediately to advice of the delay. He was very polite and told me he was going to the airport early as he would rather wait for the client than the other way round!
